Celebrate Earth Day Everyday!

Namaste(greeting in Hindi) amazing artists! HAPPY EARTH DAY everyday!

What is Earth Day?

Earth Day was created to raise awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment. It is celebrated April 22nd every year.

What is the history of Earth Day?

On April 22, 1970, 20 million Americans took to the streets, college campuses and hundreds of cities to protest and demand a new way to take care of our planet. At this time the environment was in crisis, oil spills, smog and pollution. Today our Earth suffers from plastic pollution, deforestation and air pollution to name a few. This day millions of people celebrate to protect our planet.

How can you make a difference?

You can help our Earth by:

-picking up litter

-planting a tree

-limit use of electricity

-limit your water usage(turn off water when brushing teeth)

-spread the message(raise awareness)

-limit single use plastic(reusable bags, reusable water bottles etc.)

-drop off recyclables at local recycling center

No matter where you are, you can make a difference and we can save the Earth together.

To celebrate Earth Day lets raise awareness by creating an Earth Art Design and up cycle plastic bottles!

ACTIVITY 1: Go outside with a family member and find natural objects that are on the ground: rocks, twigs, flowers, leaves or bark. Use these materials to spell EARTH ART or create your very own artwork.
